Our History

Our story starts way back, when Mohanji has started a charitable trust in 2003.

ACT Foundation registered in Sri Lanka

ACT Foundation was registered in Sri Lanka under the Companies Act No 7 of 2007. The nature of the business was identified as a ‘not-for-profit service,’ and members of the current management team were appointed as the Board of Directors of ACT Foundation Sri Lanka.


ACT Foundation Opened First Community Kitchen in Sri Lanka

ACT Foundation Sri Lanka has responded to the country's economic crisis by opening a community kitchen in Bandarawela and serving cooked meals to needy people. This was followed by various other activities conducted under the ACT4SriLanka banner.


ACT Foundation intensified activities in Sri Lanka

ACT Foundation Sri Lanka started its activities by providing dry rations to needy people in selected locations during the COVID-19 Pandemic.


ACT Foundation Started First Service Activity in Sri Lanka

ACT Foundation UK has constructed a new groundwater well in the village of Vakarai in the Batticaloa district to facilitate clean water access to a remote community. People in this community had to travel many kilometers to access clean water.


ACT Started Spreading Internationally as ‘ACT Foundation’

ACT started spreading internationally, much beyond the boundaries of India, under the name of ACT Foundation. ACT Foundation’s sister charity, Ammucare, remains active within India, while ACT Foundation covers the rest of the world.


ACT was actively servicing the world from India

Based out of Palakkad in Kerala, ACT has grown beyond regional barriers. Accepted and encouraged by a broad spectrum of people from different parts of the world, Ammucare works worldwide to extend universal care to all the children of Mother Earth.

2003 - 2011

Mohanji started Ammucare Charitable Trust At Dubai, UAE

ACT was started in Dubai, UAE, in November 2003. ACT team led by the Founder Mohanji and that time President of ACT, Mr. Anand Nair, engaged hands-on in many unique initiatives, like the Iran earthquake, the 2004 tsunami in Asia, the Lebanon war, the Ukraine war, the Turkey earthquake, etc.
